I am a Manchester actor, theatre maker and photographer who grew up near Southampton but chose to live in the North West after graduating from Manchester School of Theatre in July 2015.
I am taking a year off to go travelling so will be unavailable from Christmas 2019 until Christmas 2020.
Recently created a new show called Men Chase Women Choose with Eve Shotton and Matt Holt, directed by Kate Coogan and produced by Hannah Ellis, Chloe Beale and People Zoo Productions. The piece had it’s premiere at Hope Mill Theatre, Manchester, before heading to Buxton Fringe, Matchstick Piehouse in London, Summerhall at Edinburgh Festival and Oldham Coliseum. “It is very funny, surprisingly informative and features a pair of sparkling performances” – British Theatre Guide (Men Chase Women Choose, 2019)
“A very funny, very clever show, executed by two very talented and versatile performers” – Number 9 (Men Chase Women Choose, 2019)
“Her character is an intelligent “STEMINIST“, but also has an abundance of dry wit and humour. The pair compliment each other perfectly, and display a fantastic rapport, forging an irrepressible partnership that is a complete joy to watch. It is clear that they are having a blast, and this energy feeds through to the audience. With superb comic timing, they both demonstrate exceptional versatility as actors, delivering comedy through rap, poetry, physical performance, and sketches.” – The Plays The Thing (Men Chase Women Choose, 2019)
“The supporting cast is equally strong, particularly…Sophie Giddens’ Peter, who provide(s) most of the comedy” – Frankly, My Dear UK (Romeo and Juliet 2018)
“John Tueart and Sophie Giddens provide two of the most powerful and gripping performances that I have seen. The emotion and passion with which they deliver their characters are nothing short of sensational” – Number 9 (The Egoist 2018)
